Student Literary Works: Diamond

Poem and Digital Art by Diajah Moore

Your mixed signals, I can barely tell

False wishes in the wishing well

Thought you wouldn’t love me twice, but then you fell

Our bodies attracted what your words would repel

Now here lately you start to compel

Thought we were living in a fairytale

But you broke me and you gave me hell

Shifted the blame instead of blaming yourself

Left all your burns and your marks on me

What you called love was 3rd degree

Lost my own voice because you made me scream

I echoed your silence

Now I’m the one violent?

Your ego’s like diamond

So hard to crack

But I’m the one pressured

You pressed and you pressed her

I’m trapped below, but I’m coming back
