Bantams Attend Carolina Day

On Tuesday, Feb. 13, a group USC Union students, faculty, and staff, including our student council and Blaze the Bantam, traveled to Columbia to participate in Carolina Day. In this annual event, alumni, students, faculty, and staff from USC and all regional campuses come together to show support for the University and meet the legislators who advocate for them in the General Assembly.

The Bantams met with representatives Doug Gilliam (Union and Laurens), Brian Lawson (Cherokee and Spartanburg), Steve Long (Spartanburg),  and Dennis Moss (Cherokee, Spartanburg, and York) and Senator Danny Verdin (Greenville and Laurens).

SGA president Emma Chapman attended a special meeting with Governor McMaster, alongside SGA presidents from USC and all the regional Palmetto College campuses. The group was also recognized by Rep. Gilliam in the House.
