I’m Tired

Student Literary Works

Poem by Diajah Moore

I tired of looking in the mirror and seeing tears on my face

I’m tired every night dreaming a dream I’m too tired to chase

I’m tired of talking, my mouth is numb

I’m choking on words I can’t get out with my thumb

I’m tired of wounds my mistakes leave behind

I’m tired of the thoughts that keep torturing my mind

I’m tired of the risks I've been taking, my heart just keeps breaking

I’m tired of breathing, my chest is just seething

WHY IS MY MIND SCREAMING

I'm tired of laying low while my desolation stands tall

I’m tired of giving my all, just for the tears to continue to fall
